Design proposal for a travel notebook for more aware tourism
Caminantes investigates the process that led from the Grand Tour - or, the formative travel introduced in the 18th century for the youth of the English aristocracy - to the standardization of tourism, through a journey through the various forms of travel documentation.
Understanding the rituals and dynamics of what laid the foundations of mass tourism helps us to understand in greater depth the habits and mechanisms of current tourism, what impact online review platforms have on choices, and how much social media and overexposure to images of others' experiences influence our own.
In addition, the critical situation of some realities (cities such as Venice and Florence are examples) lead us to reflect on the emergence of a critical situation, that of overtourism, which has its roots in the Grand Tour.

The first goal of the project is to offer tourists a customizable tool that invites them to reclaim their own and personal travel experience, to focus less on destinations and more on the journey, its timing, and its scenarios.
The second goal is to create a network related to sustainable experiential tourism, which is becoming increasingly popular as people need to reconnect with more authentic experiences, away from mass tourism. A scenario that would help solve some of the problems of overtourism.
Finally, the notebook takes advantage of augmentedpapers technologies via smart Pen to allow the user both analog and digital usages, without having to give up either method and in a way that takes advantage of technologyas an aid and not as a filter to the experience.
